YouTube Premium prices are increasing across all major plans in the U.S. The individual plan now costs $15.99/month, with bigger jumps for families

YouTube’s subscription tier initially launched in 2015 as YouTube Red at $9.99 per month for the individual plan. In 2018, it morphed into YouTube Premium with a higher $11.99 cost. Then came the 2023 price hike to $13.99. This is the first US price increase for YouTube Premium since 2023, but many international viewers saw increases in 2024.

YouTube says it isn't testing 90-second non-skippable ads. Users on Reddit and X say otherwise, reporting unskippable ads well beyond 30 seconds.

YouTube now automatically holds back ads when live chat engagement peaks. Additionally, buying a Super Chat, Super Sticker, or virtual gift now earns you a personal, ad-free viewing window so you don’t miss the creator’s shoutout.
